Foresight Engineering 18k Trail Run Course Map
We wanted to bring you the best trails, so for this 18km run we are heading up into Mystic Park. Early Bird registration is open now until the 1st April 2024. You can register here.
The 18km trail event covers some of the most stunning trails found in the Mystic Park and Bakers Gully bowl. The course starts with some fast flowy single trail where runners will be able to really test their technical running skills. This first section of course covers trails like Ballroom Blitz, Mine shaft alley and Nightmare. Once through this flowing single trail section you will find yourself at Huggins lookout and on some beautiful undulating fire road that soon turns to a steady climb which is runnable if you've paced well early. After this you find yourself heading down a small part of the famous "Micks track". Whilst this is only a short section its definitely worth tackling with caution. Closely followed is a short extremely steep climb which will test your mental strength. From here we are into some fire road which holds some of the best views on course. Following that we are single trail all the way home taking in the Bakers Gully reservoir trails. A cheeky little bonus climb to Huggins lookout then a fast finish back to the school to tell everyone how epic your adventure was.
Each participant is required to hold a "One Day On-Foot Membership" for Mystic Park on the day of the race. The cost of your day pass into Mystic Park is $5 per person. We will be sighting Mystic Passes on the day. To get your passes please download the Hive Pass App onto your device and select Mystic Park during the sign up process. Please be aware this is an additional requirement to your registration to the Bright Fun Run. No need to purchase the One Day On-Foot Membership if you already hold an Annual On-Foot Membership. Age Requirements
Our race rules have been tailored around recommendations set out in The FIT Model by Athletics Australia. We understand that there are variations in the physical and mental development of children and adolescents and that there will be younger runners that are fit and able to run the longer distances but want to ensure that our race rules provide an extra level of safety and caution for the younger runners should they wish to participate. This is why we have said certain ages for certain race lengths will need to run with an adult. How you manage this on the course is your discretion and we trust that adults running with young runners know their ability and can make the best choices to suit their own requirements on the day. The course will be well marked and marshalled however we still caution all runners to be aware on how to manage themselves should they encounter a snake, have a fall, or find themselves off course.
