Support Information
- Please take a common sense approach to this race. Challenge yourself but also look after yourself.
- Be courteous and help others if they require it.
- This is a trail running race. Participants entering this event for the 8km and 18km are expected to be competent in trail running and moving over technical terrain, including steep ascents and descents.
- You will be running through a spectacular section of nature, please respect the environment and keep on course.
- Participants must stay on the course at all times. The course will be well marked and there will be stationed marshals to assist you if you need it. If at any stage you feel you are not able to navigate yourself back onto the course please contact race organisers or carefully make your way to a public location e.g, marshals, roadway etc.
- You can view all the aid stations and marshal points on the course via the Capra App https://capra.page.link/R9r3
- Please let race organisers know if you decide to stop your race at any time.
- Cut-off’s will be applicable if participants are not moving through the 18km at an expected pace. They will be redirected onto the 8km course to finish. Marshals have discretion to turn you around if they feel you are not fit and able to complete the race.
- We are happy to have Alpine Timing as our official timers for the event.
- While you are applying that common sense approach to your safety please also do so when choosing your gear. We recommend you wear technical running shoes as well as bringing your own drinking vessel. We will provide water but will not be providing cups or drink bottles. Consider carrying a snake bandage on you given the weather will be warming up at that time of year.
- Be aware of the weather conditions for the day and dress appropriately.
- Race organisers have the discretion to modify race route/start times.
- Many volunteer hours have gone into putting this event on to raise money for Bright P-12 College. Please be respectful to the organisers, volunteers and the runners around you.
Age Requirements
Our race rules have been tailored around recommendations set out in The FIT Model by Athletics Australia. We understand that there are variations in the physical and mental development of children and adolescents and that there will be younger runners that are fit and able to run the longer distances but want to ensure that our race rules provide an extra level of safety and caution for the younger runners should they wish to participate. This is why we have said certain ages for certain race lengths will need to run with an adult. How you manage this on the course is your discretion and we trust that adults running with young runners know their ability and can make the best choices to suit their own requirements on the day. The course will be well marked and marshalled however we still caution all runners to be aware on how to manage themselves should they encounter a snake, have a fall, or find themselves off course.
