Info for on the day
Race Day Info – Be Smart, Stay Safe & Have Fun!
This is all about pushing yourself, having fun, and staying safe—so let’s keep things simple and sensible out there!
Race Start Times:
Trail Running 101
✅ Challenge yourself, but look after yourself.
✅ Be courteous—lend a hand if someone needs help.
✅ Stay on course—it’s well-marked, and marshals will be there to guide you.
✅ Respect nature—leave nothing but footprints!
Who Can Run?
This is a trail running event! If you’re tackling the 8km or 18km course, you should be comfortable running on technical terrain, including steep climbs and descents.
If You Get Lost or Need Help
🚩 Stick to the course—if you’re unsure where you are, ask a marshal or call the race organisers.
🚩 If you can’t continue, head to a marshal or a public spot like a road crossing and let us know.
🚩 If you decide to pull out of the race, make sure you tell the organisers.
Cut-Offs & Course Changes
🏁 If you're not keeping pace on the 18km course, you may be redirected to the 8km finish.
🏁 Marshals have the right to stop you if they feel it’s unsafe for you to continue.
🏁 Race organisers may modify the route or start times if needed—safety first!
Gear Up!
👟 Wear proper trail running shoes—this terrain isn’t your average footpath!
💧 BYO drinking vessel—water stations are available, but no cups or bottles will be provided.
🐍 Consider carrying a snake bandage—it’s warming up, and it’s always good to be prepared!
🌦 Check the weather and dress accordingly.
Timing & Thanks
⏱ We’re thrilled to have Alpine Timing as our official race timers!
🙌 This event is powered by volunteers to raise money for Bright P-12 College—please be kind, respectful, and grateful to the organisers, volunteers, and fellow runners!

Keeping It Safe & Fun for Everyone!
Our race rules follow Athletics Australia’s FIT Model, which helps us make sure everyone—especially our younger runners—stays safe while having an awesome time on the trails!
We know that kids develop at different rates, and some younger runners may be more than capable of tackling the longer distances. That’s why we’ve set age guidelines for certain race lengths, requiring younger runners to have an adult with them.
👨👩👧👦 Running with a younger runner? You know their ability best, so we trust you to make the right choices to support them out on the course!
Stay Aware & Stay Safe!
✔️ The course is well-marked and marshalled, but it’s still important to stay aware.
✔️ Know what to do if you encounter a snake, take a fall, or accidentally go off course.
✔️ If in doubt, ask for help—marshals will be stationed throughout the course.
At the end of the day, safety comes first—so run smart, look out for each other, and most importantly, have fun out there!
